What goes into the cost of a business website?

A practical guide to pages, content, integrations and ongoing costs, using Spreadle’s advertised website prices as starting points.

A website quote is easier to compare when you know what the work includes. A single page introducing a business and a portal with employee accounts are different projects, even if both open in a browser.

Start with the action you want people to take

Should a visitor call you, request a quote, book a time, or buy a product? That decision shapes the pages and integrations. A small service business may need a concise introduction, a useful showcase, and a WhatsApp enquiry link. A consultant may need case studies and booking.

Spreadle’s Digital Business Card is advertised at ₹10,000 for a single-page website. The Lead Machine starts at ₹25,000+ for a portfolio with lead capture and calendar booking. These are starting points for discussion; the written proposal defines your deliverables.

Count content as work

Agree on who supplies the copy, logo, photography, and product information. Five finished pages take a different amount of effort from five pages whose content still needs to be researched and written. If you need to update content yourself, discuss the editing workflow before development starts.

Ask whether migration, redirects, image preparation, and metadata are included. Those details help preserve useful existing content and make the launch easier to review.

Name each integration

A link to WhatsApp is different from a custom enquiry system. Booking, payments, accounts, inventory, and third-party data all add decisions, testing, and maintenance. List the systems involved and what should happen when an integration fails.

For a product catalogue with WhatsApp ordering, Spreadle advertises The WhatsApp Store at ₹20,000. The Shopify Quick-Start is ₹30,000. Read about ecommerce options before deciding which ordering flow you need.

Separate the build from running costs

Confirm domain registration, hosting, platform subscriptions, paid services, payment fees, and maintenance separately. Ask who owns the accounts, who receives renewal notices, and what support follows the handover. A one-time project price does not define every future operating cost.

Use a scope you can check

A useful proposal names the pages, features, supplied content, revision rounds, milestones, payment terms, and acceptance checks. Define the first release and leave optional ideas for later. That makes changes easier to price and prevents an unclear brief from becoming a moving target.

Explore web development or custom software to see how we approach each type of build. When you enquire, send the main goal, an example of the current workflow, and an approximate budget. We can then discuss a scope around the job you need done.
